Young Leaders 2022: "Be the Change you want to see"
Margaret, our vicar, proudly presented our Young Leaders with their Young Leader Award certificates. The Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award (YLA) is a fully resourced leadership and character education programme, empowering young people to transform society and inspire others to do the same. Each week, our dedicated team of Year 5s met with Margaret and Ms Seccull after school to develop skills through practical activities and team building challenges including effective communication, creative thinking, emotional intelligence, humility and compassion. The programme created opportunities for social action enabling the team to become more confident in their leadership, character and personal well-being, develop their commitment to serving others, learn more about social justice and how they can bring flourish and hope to communities. We are really looking forward to running the course again in the Spring Term for another team of community minded Year 5s.
