If your child has a cough or temperature...

If your child has a cough or temperature they cannot come to school. You should book a test for your child and the whole household should self isolate. If the test is negative and the child is well enough, symptom free for 48 hours and not advised to self isolate by test and trace, they and any siblings can return to school.

If the test is positive, your child should self isolate for at least 10 days from when the symptoms started and the whole household should self isolate for 14 days from when the symptoms started. If a child has a test, you should inform school immediately of the result.

Children can return to school after 10 days, when they feel better and have been without a fever for at least 48 hours.

If your child has a cough or fever or changes to taste and smell and does not have a test, we will have to assume these are coronavirus symptoms and they will need to self isolate for 10 days from when the symptoms started and the rest of the household for 14 days from when the symptoms started.

Our risk assessment, which is based upon Government guidelines, states that children who come to school exhibiting symptoms of covid (eg cough, temperature) will be sent home and you should seek a test.

Further guidance is available on the 'Quick Guide for Parents/Carers'

If your child has sickness or diarrhoea, they must remain absent from school for 48 hours after the last bout of illness.

If your child is ill with a cold and has no cough or temperature, they may come to school if you feel that they are well enough.

If your child has any other illness eg chicken pox, scarlet fever please advise the office. They cannot come to school while infectious.

Thank you for your co-operation.
