Anyone in Year 5 who is doing some writing about Robin Hood ;-)

Summary/ content

This story tells a version of Robin Hood's whole life. The author imagines what originally drove him to become Robin Hood, how he lived, many of his adventures, how he met lots of the characters and how he eventually died. There are lots of examples of how difficult and unpleasant life in Medieval times could be - the terrible punishments for minor crimes, the difficult living conditions for anyone but the noblemen and the difficulties faced by one man who wanted to do the right thing.

I would recommend this book to adults that like classic fiction..

Summary/ content

This book was written in 1847. The story begins in 1801 and covers about 20 years until the end. It is set on the Yorkshire Moors and most of the story features two houses a few miles from each other. The main character is a man named Heathcliff and how his life develops after becoming very close to Catherine, the daughter of the family who takes him in.
I found it to be a sad novel and strangely I did not like any of the characters as I found them to be selfish and conceited.
